BIO

Zach Nial, a New Jersey native who graduated from Boston University in 1996, has been working in music television since 1990.  Having held numerous positions in television production over the years, including music supervisor, script supervisor, post production supervisor, producer, and live show director, Zach Nial is an international live variety television professional with a unique schooling in the industry. Zach was a member of VH1’s concert series and live event production team from 1994 to 2004, holding every position from intern to producer and director.  He left to begin his own company, Denial Industries, where he has been directing live musical performances, broadcast television shows and corporate events for the past 17 years.

 

Shows and series that Zach has been an integral part of over the years include Live Nation: Live Stream, AXS.TV Live, HuffPostLive, TIdal.com, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, VH1 Storytellers, Hard Rock Live, Unplugged, MTV2 Discover and Download Live, VH1 Soulstage, Divas, VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies, VH1 Hip Hop Honors, The Experience Concert Series, and many others.  Since he began directing live shows in 2000, Zach has worked with many of the industry’s biggest acts, including Beyonce, Gwen Stefani, The Weekend, David Bowie, The Black Crowes, Chris Rock, ZZ Top, Kanye West, Rihanna, Ozzy Osbourne, Lenny Kravitz, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, My Morning Jacket, Robert Plant, David Byrne, John Legend, Al Green, Mary J. Blige, Green Day, B.B. King, Willie Nelson, John Mayer, My Chemical Romance, Cirque Du Soleil, and many others.

 

Zach has been at the forefront of the new movements in live performance coverage via his multiple web series and festival direction.  While at VH1, Zach began directing concerts for web streaming in 2000 with the Yahoo Internet Life Awards, Rock The Vote Awards, and many others. In 2003, Zach directed a new series called Live@VH1.COM, which was so successful that over the course of the next 6 years, it spawned numerous other series, such as Live@MTV.COM, MTV2 Discover and Download Live, Unplugged@VH1.COM, Unplugged@MTV.COM, and VH1 Soulstage, shooting over 500 episodes and producing many television specials for MTV Networks properties. Zach directed the television and live web coverage for the Bonnaroo and Essence Music festivals for 10 years, as well as numerous awards shows & multi-camera events for Jazz at Lincoln Center, including the NEA Jazz Masters Hall of Fame live webcast and show.
